TVRDOŠ-ZAVALA KAYAKING TOUR

If you want to enjoy kayaking all day, choose this relaxing adventure tour. In its lower course, the river Trebišnjica passes through Popovo polje, which is surrounded by impressive peaks of the mountains Bjelasnica, Siljevac and many other hills. On the river Trebišnjica in this part there are about 40 mills of very specific construction. These are ponor mills that can only be seen here, because they were built on karst terrain that is full of abysses.

During this tour you will see a large number of beautiful bridges. During the summer the river is warm and very suitable for swimming. Rowing is very easy because the river naturally flows downstream at low speed.

The banks of the river are arranged so it is very easy to land at any time. We will take a few breaks to rest, use the time to take photos and visit one of the mills.

Short description of the tour: This very interesting kayak tour starts from the Tvrdos monastery. We are moving through the Trebinje forest towards Popovo polje. Along the way we will see the old Ponor mills along the river banks, as well as the unique karst landscape. If we are lucky we can meet a herd of wild horses that often move along the river bank. We take a break for rest near the bridge in the village of Poljice, after which we descend to Popovo polje where the river widens slightly and becomes even slower. Our final destination is the village of Zavala, where we will visit the unique Vjetrenica cave, the largest cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This will be followed by lunch (upon request) and return by car to Trebinje.

- Transport from Hotel Leotar(Trebinje) to the starting point of the kayak tour (Monastery Tvrdoš) and back from our destination (Zavala) to Trebinje

WHAT YOU NEED:
Bring water, hat, sunglasses, swiming suit, sunscreen with protection factor, spare clothes, sneakers or slippers to help you get out of the kayak

Options: Water bottles could be provided by HERZ Adventures on request.
Trebinje has 260+ sunny days a year. Still, organizer reserves the right to cancel the trip without prior notice due to bad weather conditions.
